WHAT WAS ONCE, WILL ALWAYS BE, AND YOU LEFT YOUR IMPRINT ON ME. SOMETIMES I THINK ITS THE SPARK OF CONFLICT WITH WHICH WE AFFECT MOST HEAVILY. BUT I HOPE IF YOU THINK OF ME, YOU’LL REMEMBER ONLY HARMONY, AND TIME PASSES ON .. . TICONDEROGA HIGH SCHOOL TICONDEROGA, NEW YORK CARILLON 1977 DEDICA TION . . The Class of 1977 would like to dedicate our yearbook to two very special people. First. Mr. Thomas Thompson, who served as our class advisor during our Freshman and Sophomore years. He helped us when we were timid “rookies”. Who will ever forget the boxes and boxes of pecan log rolls? In your immortal words, we would just like to say, “Great, Great.” We also wish to thank Ms. Anne Cardoza who has faithfully stood behind us during our last two years. When we thought our Junior Prom would never be-you were there to make it be. You have touched all of us with your special sense of humor and friendship. We are dedicating our yearbook to you, Mr. Thompson, and to you, Ms. Cardoza, because it is the best way we know of to express our thanks to you. Love Class of 1977 Dr. Verdon, Superintendent Mr. Sabol, Principal THE BOARD OF EDUCATION Sitting: Mr. Gibbard. Mr. Drake, Mr. Shattuck, Mr. Herbert Standing: Dr. Brennan, Mr. Pannacia, Mr. Joubert Missing: Mr. Bevilacqua 3 The Senior Class would like to thank the members of the faculty and staff of Ti High. You have guided us through four pretty difficult years of our lives. A special thanks to each one of you! When you are old and gray, we hope that our yearbook will help bring back happy memories of your high school years. If every person can pick up his yearbook sometime in the future and smile or laugh a little, we will have succeeded in our major purpose of writing this book. Our yearbook wouldn’t have been possible without the much needed and valuable advice from Mr. Swaim, from the Intercollegiate Press Yearbook Company. A special thanks to you! Of course a yearbook is nothing without pictures. The staff of the yearbook wishes to thank Mr. Burr, a photographer from Steven’s Studios, for his time and patience. ? Never before did I realize how much they were alike and at the same time how completely different they were. As for the Dutch people, I found them extremely friendly, courteous, and open. My summer in Holland was fantastic and I encourage everyone who has a chance to travel abroad to do so! In the last four games only 3 goals were scored against the team, while they scored 10 times. Goalie, Wendy Shaw, also acheived two shut-outs in a row. It was a good season and one the girls can be proud of. It originated in Canada in 1891. Believe it or not, the first basketball was actually a soccer ball and the first teams consisted of nine men. In the I950’s and 1960’s, this game became popular in most high schools and colleges. Basketball is a game of skill. Some of the most important skills are passing, dribbling, shooting and the quick break. Typical passes include the underhand, overhead, and side passes. Dribbling is a skill that enables a player to advance toward the basket while retaining control of the ball. Popular shots include the one and two hand lay ups, the set shots and the underhand throws. Any spectator watching a game played by the Ticonderoga Sentinels is completely awed by the skill and quality of handling that each player uses in controlling the ball. All types of shots and plays are executed by the players, allowing the Sentinels to remain a winning team. At this point, we would like to congratulate all the coaches and players for the fine job done in making the Sentinels such a successful team during the 1976-1977 year. We would also like to mention the Seniors who will be leaving the team this year: Tony Bevilacqua, Kip White. Mike Brant, John Johnson, John Kerr, Brett Pulliam, Tom Scanlon and Elliott Shaw. We also wish to extend our best wishes for success to the future teams at Ticonderoga High. Now I lay me down to study, I pray the Lord I won’t go nutty. And if I fail to learn this junk, 1 pray the Lord that I won’t flunk. But if I do, don’t pity me at all. Just lay my bones in the study hall. Tell my teacher I’ve done my best. Then pile my books upon my chest. Now I lay me down to rest, To pray I’ll pass tomorrow’s test. If I should die before 1 wake. That’s one less test I’ll have to take.
