Text from Pages 1 - 160 of the 1976 volume:

When you are old and gray and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; William Butler Yeats 1976 Carillon: Ticonderoga High School Dear Miss Lehman With us for three years, you contributed more guidance and work than any class could ever fully appreciate. Out of those three years have come unforgettable memories. Remember Ms. Lehman? “World’s Finest” candy stainless steel knives emergency candles money coming out of our ears The Prom: those many hours of sleep we didn’t get before the prom. . . crepe paper, crepe paper, and more crepe paper the rain outside, the flood inside And last, but not least - our DIME-A-DIP SUPPERS As our senior year comes to a close, we cannot help but feel sad that you were not able to share this past year with us. However, Ms. Lehman, you will always remain a dear part of our memories at Ticonderoga High School. And to thank you for all you have done for our class, the 1976 Carillon is dedicated to you. Love Class of 1976 2 3 Dear Mr. Rutkowski Just in passing, in case you’re interested, to erase any dossible poubt, it is quicker by duck than by donut. On the other hand, she had warts. . or did she wear a catcher’s mitt? Seriously though, we want to thank you for being our advisor during our last year at Ticonderoga High School. We appreciated all your help as well as your humor, and we hope that you enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed you. Arsenic. . . Love, Class of 1976 Dear Mr. Herbert This yearbook would not be complete if we didn’t at least try to express our gratitude for the three years of guidance and friendship that you gave to us. Love Class of 1976 Dear Mr. Thompson We are giving this piece of our yearbook to you, to thank you for the help and guidance you have given to us during our senior year at Ticonderoga High School. A guy who shoots when others can’t, A guy whose name is Michael Brant. There’s a player loved by my mother. That’s no player, that’s my brother. A guy I’m sure you’ll all admire. This fellow’s name is McIntyre. He’s worth more than an old Desoto, This one’s name is Michael Croto. I will not mention all the rest. They are good, they are the best. It was then that Ethan Allen uttered his famous words when he ordered the British commander to surrender “in the name of the great Jehovah and the Continental Congress.” It has been called America’s first victory. On May 10, 1975, it happened again. In fact it happened three times with 40,000 people there to watch, among them Governor Carey and descendants of those who took part in that historic event 200 years ago. Since this is a bicentennial yearbook, its editors thought it would be appropriate to take a look back at what happened last year at the recapture of Fort Ticonderoga. 131 FortSt.Fneu.., (Crown TVaintJ s ,%. :ort Carillon TFconderoga) ttboJCrtt Fort WiU «m Henry F©rtG«o c) ' ’port Edwanl 132 Give it up Coach!
