Class Historg In the year 1958 a very extraordinary group of freshmen entered the halls of Ticonderoga High. Although verdant , we teenagers, led by Miss Cook, soon made ourselves widely known in various ways. The main cause of excitement in our freshman year was the purchase of our class pins. Then the tempo increased, we presented the freshman supper, our first record hop, and several sales activities. With the success of our freshman year, we felt better prepared for our sophomore season. Our Sophomore Twirp Dance started the year off with a bang! The girls soon found out what boys go through when asking for dates. The dance was a huge success and everyone had a wonderful, time. Later in the year there were the class supper, another record hop, food sales and other sales projects. By the end of the year, we rusty sophomores had lost our awkwardness and. surprisingly enough, become ladies and gentlemen. Our third year came on speedy wings and we were Jolly Juniors. This was probably the most awaited year of those mentioned, for three great events took place. Our class rings, which were different from those of previous classes, shone so brightly that everyone walked around with spots in front of his eyes for at least two months after the acquisition. In a novel undertaking, we staged three successful plays, namely: The Private Lives of the Master Race, Thank you Doctor, and Hillbilly Hi Jinks, which were directed by Miss Linsert, Mr. Sola, and Mrs. Carney. An exceptional junior prom was given. It was beautifully decorated in pink and green, with apple blossom trees situated in various parts of the cafeteria. Eileen Bourgeous was the radiant queen of our Apple Blossom Time. During this year we initiated the idea of selling food at the football games. This was one of our major money-making projects. Intertwined among these events was the sale of Christmas cards, sweatshirts and food. Also, another record hop was held. To end our junior year we were awarded with the keys to the senior candy room. Since the sale of candy lasts all year, we knew it would be one of the contributing factors to our senior trip. At the beginning of the new term, we members of the class of '62 found ourselves the honored occupants of the senior rooms. We immediately entered upon the round of duties and pleasures which is the seniors' share. During this year we worked especially hard to bring in as much money as we could toward our class trip to Washington, D.C. We held record hops, and sold magazines, Christmas cards and food. The senior play contributed greatly to our efforts. Duties and pleasures still loom up in the future. But the members of this class of 1962 can say, We have reached our first goal. We have conquered the things which seemed unconquerable; we have won.
