TICO Lends a Helping Hand While operating in the South China Sea, TICONDEROGA came upon two distressed ships. The first one was the Celinda, a burning derelict. TICO made a pass by her but another ship had already come to the aid of the tanker and rescued her crew. The second distressed ship was the Falcon Lady, which had run aground. Her master took ill and a medical evacuation heli- copter from HS-8 was dispatched to the tanker and brought the skipper aboard TICO. He spent five days on the carrier undergoing treatment and observation for a suspected heart attack.
