4 FOX Fire on the uproll, a shot across her bow, Mr. Perri. Commands of a glorious past, in their time quite appropriate. Today with the advent of mach 2 fighters and 60- knot patrol boats there is much more to be taken into consideration. Hence the develop- ment of complex and elaborate firecontrol radars and computers. Within lies the realm of the firecontrolmen of Fox Division. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Ticonderoga's firecontrol equipment and defense against sea and 'air attack. Ticonderoga participated in gunnery exercises this cruise to test the capabilities and flexibility of her firecontrol system. The men of Fox were successful in bringing down a target sleeve. Many months of training and preparation had paid off! For Ticonderoga another feather in her cap and for the men of Fox a sense of pride and accomplishment.
