The Electrical Division is one division that attracts attention to the Tico by supply- ing many of the services that make life livable whileon deployment. From. the lighting all through the ship to the movies on the tube, E division gets their hands into the electrical workings and interior communications of this massive ship. The telephone system that extends into almost every space on board is cared for by the E division IC gang. All of the many blowers and airconditioners are nursed along by the dedicated men of the power shop. Sound powered telephones that act as the nerves of the ship are also under the watchful eyes of the Electrical division. Probably less well known to the majority of the crew, who never get above the flight deck, are the efforts of the aircraft and ordinance shop which maintains the vital lighting systems used in flight operations and the electrical machines needed to service the airgroup. Working deep in the heart of the ship are the tenders of the gyros, but it is rumored that the isolation is well made up for by the airconditioning required by the equipment. Down in the major engineering spaces the distribution crew stands by to handle the changing electrical needs of the large system that the Ticonderoga truely is. From the batteries on the captains gig to the number 14 that indentifies us in every port, the lighting shop keeps the bulbs glowing. Some of the most important work of the division was in the support of the other units of the group. Several times the success of our mission depended on the speedy repair to vital components of other ships in the group. Like every member of the Tico team, the electrical gang has done an outstanding job to bring this cruise to a successful conclusion so that the Big 14 can again shine in San Diego Harbor. g?fflf3finRQ18IV 15-15, ,EM3 EEMROM, icg o.H.
