might be very enjoyable As soon as the arrangements with Pan Amer1can Jetlines were made I was off on the trip My first stop was 1n Northampton England where Lady Linda Loveless Humbolt and her husband resided I had the pleasure of accompanymg them on a fox hunt before leaving for France Upon my arr1val in Par1s I 1mmed1ately began looking for B1rge s Art Achool which was solely owned by Clarence B1rge He took me to the Mola Rouge for dinner and showed me Paris at n1 ht gThe next stop was Budapest where General R1chard Clouser was 1n full command of the Army troups of occupation Wh1Ch are tryng to maintain peace 1n Poland Hungary and Jugo slavia The General s Job was most lmportant and my V1S1t was cut short by a r1ot in Eastern Poland which demanded his attention In Saudl Arabia I met Rex M1tchell He had been there for f1Ve years searching for deposits of oil While he and I were look1ng over his prospective fields one of the wells came to l1fe There 1S no doubt that Rex will be a millionaire in a few more years When my V1S1t with Rex was concludedlleft for South Africa where Sam Ramsey and Mick Lamb are partners 1n Diamond Mines Inc The diamonds which were set in the crown of the Queen of Belgium came from their mines I contlnued on to Marocco where Gene Huber 1S the proprietor of a night club in Tar1g1ers Gene lS well noted for h1Sf1Il9 entertainment and delectable food as lt s the best 1n Afr1ca The next day I flew to Calro to see if everything had been taken care of for my new expedition to Tell el Amarne My next destination was the Phillippine Islands On Luzon Doctor Dunbar Mary Jo that 15 and Shirley McDonald her ass1stant and their own c11n1c Here they strove to rid the islands of many uncured diseases The g1rls have had amazing success and may completely w1pe out the dreaded parrot Jaw 1nfect1on In Tokyo Japan I found Janmce Eaton and Pat Robbins They own an exotic Chop Suey restaurant which serves the best Egg Fu Yongl have ever tasted The1r restaurant is so popular that many IDOVIG celebrities come there such as V1rg1n1a Davis Fleethart who 1S now on lo cation making Moon Over Hiroshima and B111 Skeen the or1g1nator of Skeen s Stunt Flying Academy where many motion pictures great stunt men have been trained Toowoombo Jetport our Jet needed minor repairs andl recognized one of the machan1cs It was Noah Way chief mechanic for Transworld Airways at Toowoombo When Noah had completed his work he drove me to Dick s kangaroo ranch The Birge Kangaroos are in every zoo 1n the world I enjoyed the V1S1t there but lt was essential that I be in HaWa11 by the following Thurs day so we exchanged farewells and I departed While flying to HaWa11 I discoverd that Donna Warmoth was also on the transport She told me she was returning to Washington D C from a d1p1omat1c assignment in China Donna sa1d her m1ss1on concerned returning secret documents which had been stolen from White Sands New Mexico At Honolulu Jewell Linton and Jim Hamill met me They took me to their ocean s1de health resort Wh1Ch was called Ham Lin That night I had dinner Wlth Jewell and J1m 1n their famous Blue Orch1d d1n1ng room which had been exquisitely des1gned by Janet Gant of the House of Gant in Boston the famous 1nter1or decorator Judy Aloha Irwin an employee of Ham Lin entertained us with her excellent singmg and then she Jomed us later While flying to South America Inot1ced that Ann Hauser was on the same Jet She sa1d she was going to Paraguay to help establish a m1ss1on She planned to teach the Paraguan1ans the ways of c1v1hzed people I wished her luck and promised to V1S1t her next fall When the Jet landed at R10 De Janeiro Ann left for Parguay and I boarded the President Lincoln an atomic powered luxury liner which took me to Mexlco I selected this ship es peclally as Ronald Reagon was the captain I was honored when Ronald invited me to dine at the Captain s table that first night out He told me he had been chosen to take the President of the United States to Spam next month I left Ronald at Vera Cruz and started for Sam Pedro Near here Betty Merrill and Janie Miller have a 297 acre coffee plantation and this was my next objective Their plantation was quite a spectacle coffee plants for miles and people running everywhere I stayed there as long as I could but there was one more person I wished to see The girls drove me to the airport where I then flew back to the good old U S A to see Allan Rhoades Allan was hving near Butte Montana on a cattle ranch which was so captivating I could hardly leave Allan showed me his livestock and a rodeo show that he owned My vacation was now at an end and the Universlty would be expecting me so I bid farewell to Allan and boarded the first strato Jet home I don't think I shall ever forget that wonderful vacation around the world 1n the year 1967 . . , I .
