Carry On Challenge Of Varsity Record The Junior Varsity and Sophomore Girls Volley- ball were very impressive this year. The J.V. had a 12 and 6 record, with the Sophomores having a tremendous 9 and 1 record. Both of the teams were very strong and they will be even stronger next year. Girl Gymnasts’ Season Thornton's Outstanding girl gymnast Karen Thompson went to state on unevens. She was also the team's high-point girl with a score of 360.85. The team record was scored against North Glenn with a 143.90 score. This year's record holders are: Floor Exersizes-Janelle Ecker 8.4 Uncvens-Karen Thompson 8.2 Vault-Robin Swanson 8.35 Beam-Robin Swanson 8.1 There were outstanding efforts by Robin Swanson on Beam and Vault, and by Karen Thompson on unevens. They each took second place in league in their event and were selected to All Conference. 160
