ual Staff Boasts is. T lf: i Tl in i n g B o o k FROM AN EDITORS VIEWPOINT Our staff was small again this year. We had five rookies and four overworked and underpaid veterans. Last summer, the staff attended a photography workshop in Mobile for three days. A one day workshop was held here for the purpose of teaching new workers the do's and don'ts of yearbooks. In the spring several members attended an awards banquet at the University of Alabama. The Thoacan '75 received an honorable mention in the C division fhigh schools with under 400 studentsl of the Ala- bama Press Association. Considering that we have less than fifty students in high school, we feel that it is a valuable and prestigious award for our school. Thoacan '76 will be critiqued this fall and we are doing our best to produce another great book. The variety of the book has broadened this year. We try to bring you the fads as well as the facts. We have covered more information thus our book has grown in size. Deadlines seemed to be a problem this year as we did not meet any. The year seemed to slip away while our book was in the planning stages. Too much boogying, talking, and bumping went on and too little hard basic work was done. There were many disappointments because a yearbook not only requires work but also it calls for responsibility. Shirley Harrison, the yearbook advisor, did more work than any of the staff, as she tried to salvage what little sanity there was left in the staff by the end of the year. It takes a dedicated person to work the long hours that she worked and we feel lucky to have had her to stick by us through a rough year. There was a good deal of talented work this year, and with a little experience most of the problems will cease and better books will be produced in future years. It was a busy year filled with picture taking, beauty reviews, darkroom, and yearbook work. We feel I all of the pains taken to produce Thoacan '75 i.' .'3 Yi' worth the effort. We 3'-cpe that you, the L!flJO'l'W,3 of 'Thomasville Academy, enjoy reading and loofif1.33jatouriabo:'. fi nnugzl jlzafl vf7 'e n 1 I' l. l fwflf X . X . M. 3 f.,,,, , if 2 jg'-' V .
