EEA fr., it--' ls:-' J . QW Can you imagine a high school prom with Elvis Presley and Elton john? Well, This year's junior Class did manage this fan- tastic feat. With the aid of costumes, the band Pure and Simple trans- posed everybody back to the rocking and reeling 50's. This was not their only magical feat. In order to bring everybody from the fifties, Pure and Simple introduced Funeral for a Friend starring Elton john. All in all the band, Pure and Simple , made the 1976 prom one of the best ever. Hours of planning and decorating proved to be the real backbone of the prom. The first major step in the preparation for the prom was raising money. To overcome this tem- porary barrier, the juniors sold magazines. It only took two weeks of selling them to raise enough 34 Prom money to pay for the prom. The next major step came when the jun- iors had to decide on the decorations. Decisions were made with much arguing and fighting, but the feuds were soon for- gotten. Probably the most fun came on Friday night when the juniors worked for nearly 11 hours dec- orating. ln these 11 hours, they fought, cried, and laughed together. Early Saturday morning, some of the juniors returned to put on the finishing touches and to admire their handiwork. On Saturday, April 10, the big day arrived. This was the day Summer Breeze was to be pre- sented to the Seniors. As was hoped, Summer Breeze came off as one of the biggest hits of the year. Seeing everyone en- joying the prom made the juniors realize that all of their work had paid off.
