They really have pedal power as they round the bend and come to a sudden stop. The stop sign means only tem- porary rest for them. They turn the corner and race down a shady dirt raod. All you see is a glint of steel and a long trail of dust behind them, When the dirt road intersects with the main road, they glide easily on the smooth gravel. Clean, fresh air and exercise really appeal to them. The scenery is another important reason the 7th graders ride. They take in everything happening around them. Sometimes they like the stillness of the country side mingled with their merry chatter. At other times they prefer the noise and the busy streets of town. Top places in the junior High beauty review were ac- Q, quired by 7th grade girls. Several 7th graders also competed in the state track meet. To keep pace with modern trends, they learned how to find dry, liquid, and linear measurements in the metric system. They studied and even baked metric. They had four girls to make top twelve in the lr. High Beauty Review. This was the first year eighth grade girls and boys could try out for varsity cheer- leader and football. Two of these girls were chosen cheerleader for the 1976-77 year and three boys joined the varsity football team. In May they ended the school year by having a class skating party. With a chance to choose their own subjects next year, the eighth graders look forward to being Freshmen. frighti On rainy days the P.E. students must go inside for organized activities. Lynette Agee and Ken Huff join the rest of the class in a round of square dancing. fupper far right? The eighth graders pitch in and help complete one of the four floats the school sponsored in the city's Christmas parade. tcenter far right? The eighth grade class officers are: Scott Wells, V.
