THE AUTOMOBILE CLUB Left to right Hughes J Wilshire J QPresidentD Mr Cavwley Oberweiser Krodel In the garage beneath Memorial Mr Cawley and his small band of automobile students worked on a 1941 Dodge which formerly belonged to Mr Millers son Dwight Weiser and the others spaced classroom lectures on the principles of the operation of an internal combustion engine betw een afternoon lab sessions They com pletely dismantled the car s engine after bodily remov ing it from the chassis and after a thorough cleaning and replacement of worn parts proceeded with the re assembly With the typical optimism of a do it yourself auto mechanic Mr Cawley reported that he hoped to have est' Clouds of blue smoke and a few left over parts may not have been equal to a costly professional ,ob as typical results but the experience gained by the boys working at a typical reconditioning job was worth much more than any improvements made to the Dodge President jock Wilshire and Secretary Dave Ober- the old ark amoverin' by the end of May at the lat- 122
