DEAN WHITNEY MATTHEWS DEAN Old Greenwich, Conn. Entered 1952 ST. LAWRENCE Good things come in small packages! Current Affairs Club 2, 3, 4, Dramatics Club 2, 3, 4, Gunnery News 3, Business Manager 4, Second Century Committee 3, 4, Athletic Council 4: Cheerleader 1, 2, Head 3, 3rd Football 1, 2, 3, Manager 4, J.V. Hockey 1, 2, 3, 4, Crew Squad 1, Varsity Crew 2, 3, Captain 4. Greenwich, Connecticut has sent many boys to Gunnery, but few of them have had a record similar to Dean's. His powerful voice made him in- valuable to Mr. Beebe. For three years he was coxswain of Gunnery's First Boat. His boats have beaten every school they have raced against, and have twice won the New England Schoolboy Championships at Quinsigamond. This year Dean was Captain of the victorious squad. His gamboling and cavorting, coupled with his ever audible voice, kept school spirit alive in victory and in defeat when he was a cheerleader. Dean's various roles in school plays have been among the highlights of Gunnerys dramatic pro- ductions FRANK ROSCO MILLIKEN III FRANK Darien Conn Entered 1953 P G STUDY ls there a future in my Ford? His smooth, collected approach in debate won many points over his ad- versaries. As a winger for the Varsity Soccer squad, Dave was a key man in many an attack on the enemy goal. 34
