TURNBULL GRIGGS VARSITY HOCKEY REVIEW The Gunnery came closest to winning a League game February 11 when Hotchkiss registered a 5 3 decision over the Red and Gray on Washington ice Halfway through the initial period Adams passed to Dwight Miller who put The Gunnery in the lead 1 O Hotchkiss turned the tables completely however in the next period as it rang up three tallies in five minutes Later in the same stanza Adams receiving a pass from Powell made the score 5 2 Forty five seconds later Dave Miller tied the count with an unassisted goal The Gunnery never scored again but Hotchkiss scored the game clinching goal early in the first frame and then added an insurance goal in the closing minutes Sporting a League record of five defeats and an over all one of a single victory and six losses the Red and Gray sextet played its final League game with Berkshire February 13 tn Sheffield Mass Playing on the season s best ice Berkshire annexed a 2 O triumph scoring both of its goals in the opening period Dick Krasow amassed a total of 43 saves for The Gunnery to thwart the Green attack On the season s poorest ice Salisbury completed The Gunnery s string of defeats with a 3-1 victory February 24 at Salisbury. Salisbury chalked up one goal in the first frame and two more in the second. Dwight Miller flipped the puck to Ken Adams who scored the loser's lone tally. Captain Dick Krasow ended his hockey career at The Gunnery with another of his customary splendid performances as goalie. With the new rinks hockey houses and jeep all that is needed to help hockey in future years is that continually lacking element cold weather. The start of the 54 winter seemed to promise low temperatures for at least most of the winter but midway through February the familiar thaw appeared and persisted for the remainder of the season. The Red and Gray would like to wish players coaches and newly-elected captain Ken Adams the best of luck in their 1955 season. It would also like to take this opportunity to commend Captain Dick Krasow not only for his outstanding play which won him a place as goalie on the League All-Star team but also for the splendid job he did as captain in holding the team together through extremely discouraging times. 65 MASTERBONE WALLEN
