The Homecoming activi- ties consisted of registra- tion of the grads, followed by open house. The even- ing was spent at a foot- ball game, where the fathers of the players sat at a special bench. The Homecoming court was presented to the crowd at half-time during which the coronation was held. Following the football game, alumni guests and members of the Student Body enjoyed a Home- coming Dance in Gym- nasium, The evening was highlighted by the pref sence of the queen and her court. This year The Dalles High School had a new and different show to replace the annual carnival. The "Gay Nineties Show" was spon- sored by the A.S.B. The show contained several skits and musical numbers as en- tertainment at the "F1oradora Cale." Students and teachers partici- pated in the show dressed in costumes irom the 90's. After the show, everyone was invited to the dance at which Bobetta Schilling, Senior, was crowned queen by the 1955 Carnival Queen, Merry Carol Dartt.
