ing the deaf. Througllout her years of service at T.S.D.g
The 1953 edition of THE TOWERS has been carefully planned
by the Senior Class of the Texas School for the Deaf. We hope
that everyone will find it an enjoyable edition, as this will be our
last fond tribute to a school we have come to love.
We are very grateful for the help of our sponsor, Mr. Gwen-
del Butler, in preparing the layouts, Mr. Will Rogers and others
for their help with our write-ups, and last, but not least, the
Printing Department for their tireless and patient work in mak-
ing our animal a reality.

Ten years have passed smce the members of the Class of 1913 were gradu ted

I am now lrvrng rn Fort Vt orth On my vacatron I decrded to traye around the
State of 'Iexas for the first trme srnce 1953
From Fort Worth my wrfe and I first went to Dallas Texas y here we met

see hrm agarn He rs a bachelor wrth a Cadrllac and a unron prrnter s card He was
strll carryrng on wrth hrs basketball career at the trme I saw hrm
That nrght we went to the Club of the Deaf rn downtown Dallas There I met
BARBARA JOHNSON flndrng she was marrred and had two sets of twms The
first were three and a half years old and the second only four months old
'I'he next day we thought of gorng to Gladewater to see how good LARRY
STEWART was gettrng along and go fishrng wrth hrm Upon enterrng Gladewater
I requested a fillrng statron operator to drrect me to hrs address To my surprrse
Larry was half owner of the place wrth hrs brother The nran I talked to called

untrl he gaye me hrs fayorrte greetrng and then I knew rt was he Larrv told me
he was the best grease monkev car washer and polrsher rn the whole town
After gabbrng wrth Larry for some trme we left for Houston to see my w rfes

there but I drdn t notrce her untrl she came up to me wrth a really cute baby rn her
arms We had a great trme talkrng about our school days I found out Jeanettes
husband was a skrlled mechamc
The next dav my wrfes aunt rnvrted us to Beaumont to go fishrng VS hen we
got there I started to drop mv hook rnto the Gulf to try my luck but I was stopped
bv a man on the dock He found out I was deaf and took us 'to hrs office to get a
pencrl and pad I was amazed to learn that BILLY JEAN GRAHAM was hrs w rfe
I could spot her a hundred feet aw ay wrth that red harr of hers She and her husband
were the owners of the dock I was fishrng from We got together and had much to
talk over I drdnt learn anvthrng except how Brllre was getting along
The day after that we left for Skrdmore mv old home town to see my father
After stayrng there a few days we went to Sun Antonro Arrrvrng there earlv rn
