p%e tde t£ t e ' lex t Ttt t Uven ttty Scf t€ tt TEXAS A M UNIVERSITY COLLEGE STATION. TEXAS 77843 Office of The President To the Students of Texas A M University: The events recorded in this 1966 Aggieland will serve to stir pleasant memories of your days on this campus. For the seniors, the memories will be of hard work, goals reached, graduation and, for sortie, commissioning. For the students who return, the Aggieland will remind you of the rich legacy left by the graduating class and of the tasks yet to be completed. For each student, this volume will call forth recollections of the challenge of classroom and laboratory where your education began. EARL RUDDER President of Texas A AA University For 90 years, Texans have entrusted this university with the education of their youth. The faculty and staff of Texas A M do not take this responsibility lightly. As you have heard on frequent occasions, our goal is excellence. We trust that you will not be satisfied with less in your personal life. The year chronicled here was an eventful one in the history of A M. In a very real sense, each of you participated in the creation of A M ' s history and contributed to its future. Only the first chapters in your career are written here. The true measure of a university ' s greatness is the calibre of its graduates. Thus, the true success of Texas A M depends upon your success. A M men before you have made great contributions to their community, their state and their nation. The Space Age has opened new frontiers that will present even greater challenges to each of you. The faculty and staff join me in wishing you every success in the days to come. Sincerely yours, Earl Kudder President 16
