A Our first Corps Review as Seniors. The next few weeks passed very quickly. Things happened fast keeping us pretty busy. Between our newly-acquired corps responsibilities, football Games, and week-end trips we managed to occasionally attend class and study. Although some made the game in Los Angeles, most of us listened to the Aggies take their opener from UCLA 20-14. We all made it to Dallas and San Antonio to see the boys remain undefeated against Tech and Trinity. And, of course, we all saw those fighting Ags beat mighty Oklahoma on Kyle Field. About this time our Sweetheart Selection Committee journeyed up to Tessie- land to choose the Aggie Sweetheart. Displaying fine taste, the committee picked one of the prettiest and nicest sweethearts we’ve ever had, Miss Wanda Harris. Now everything was set for our Corps Trip to Ft. Worth and conference opener against TCU. We were all anxiously counting the days until it arrived and suddenly there it was . . .

All College Night We were all glad when Sept, finally came for then we arrived back on the campus to put on those long wished- for boots and to take over our duties at school. The new Freshman class was as large and as green as ever. We knew a big job lay ahead of us, but everyone was enthusiastic and was anticipating a great year. Things were started off right with one of the best All College Nights ever held. The spirit was high already and the world looked brighter than ever. Everyone was yelling loud that night and the old songs and yells sounded better than ever before. Coach Ray George introduced his boys” and outlined his strategy for the year.

On October 19 the whole school journeyed northward to the friendly city” of Fort Worth and the TCU game. Our fair-haired sisters of Tessie came down and the revelries began. The corps marched through the streets of Cowtown Saturday morning and assembled at the game that afternoon. The Ags had command of the game for over three quarters and were leading 14-0 with only nine minutes to play. And then, as the corps stood awestruck and unable to believe their eyes the Horned Toads struck like lightning three times with the aid of Sophomore Ray McKown and an on-side kick-off. When the smoke had cleared and the final gun had sounded the score was TCU 20—A M 14. We stayed in the stands long after the game was over. There wasn’t a dry eye among us as we tried to figure out what had happened and thought of our four years’ dream falling to pieces. It was no one’s fault; the team had played their hearts out. It was just one of those things, so we did just as we had learned to do for 17 games during our Fish and Sophomore years. We grinned and thought of the game next week-end. It was tough, as always, but our dates and the many parties and dances that night helped immeasurably. Corps Trip The corps showing off to Cow Town.
