PROGRESS IN S P o The long years of development of t 1950-51 as the varsity teams pooled the year in A M’s history. Major titles were w teams and strong contenders were develo country teams. Numerous Aggies received coveted All ball), Darrow Hooper (track), Walt Davis ( positions on the All-American selections. The swimming team almost copped the crow ence meet in Austin. The team outswam the field b points in diving to take the title. Van Adamson (a A M ' s strongest team in several years. Characteristic of the devastating football produced by the varsity team was the 25-20 victory over SMU. In that game, Bob Smith turned in the greatest rushing performance in conference history, gaining 301 yards in 29 carries.
