Jremh JJJ, JU V Club Meats FRENCH CLUB OFFICERS ARE: Patrice Walker, vice-president; Mrs. Rulnick, advisor; Susan Buchanan, treasurer; Janice LePors, secretary; and Marilyn Hurdle, president. iM- ' j m ' i iVl ■B r Refreshments at the powder puff game, interesting speakers, a French dinner, and visit- ing clubs are all part of the French III, IV, V club. Members must be enrolled in the third, fourth, or fifth level of French to be eligible. The purpose of this club is to stimulate in- terest in the French language and culture. To obtain this goal, interesting speakers and pro- grams are provided. Such topics as the sym- bols of French kings are discussed by guest speakers. One of the highlights of this year was the Christmas program. The French club from Seventy-First high school presented a Christ- mas play. Plans are being made to present a play to Seventy-First. Other projects include manning the refreshment stand for the Tri-Hi- Y’s powder puff game. Seventy-First French club members are greeted as they arrive. Shows Participation All students in their second year of French maintain- ing a “C” average and showing much interest are eligible to join the French II Club. The objectives of the club are to promote the knowledge and interest in the French language, people, and customs. The programs of the monthly meetings are planned by tbe officers with the assistance of Miss Stanback, the advisor. Various guest speakers are invited to attend the meetings and share their experiences with the mem- bers. Also the club gives skits for the French IV and V Qub in which participation is encouraged. In addition to creating a greater interest in French, learning by way of enjoyment is one of tbe outstanding characteristics of the French II Club. Mary Howell sells refreshments at the concession stand during the Powder Puff game.
