S.G.A. The Student Government Association is made up of representatives from every organization on campus. Their main purposes are to create activities, and act as a mediator between the students and faculty. The S.G.A. sponsored dances, subsidized basketball and all other sports activities, helped BSU with the Lockin, arranged for a group of students to go to RejoySing, arranged for the Joe English concert, and Spring Formal. The S.G.A. officers last year were Pres. Spencer Emison, Vice-Pres. Denna Middleton, Sec. Jennifer Moore, Treas. Mark Flynn. 25

s p r 1 n g s The Springs of Helicon is the TWC literary magazine. It is produced once a year and contains art work, short fiction, student photography, and poetry. The James Bryant Wilson award is given out for Religious Poetry. The Springs of Helicon survives on quality and originality. This years editor was Curtis Tucker, assistant editor; Gale Cooley, Art director; Frank Ford, and other staff members were; Trade Carter, Kathy Gamble, and Sharon McCormidy. R.A. ' s are responsible for maintaining order, counseling when problems arise, and run room checks. One of the most exciting duties that an R.A. is asked to do is getting toilet paper on the weekends. Some basic requirements are 2.0 G.P.A., a mature attitude, the ability to care and get along with others R.A. ' s are also required to report to school four days before anyone else They go through basic first aide, campus rules, emergency procedures and counseling skills.
