Sigma Kappa » Sigma Kappa is a national sorority on campus. It was founded in 1874 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. The Snakey k ' s have been at Wesleyan since Jan. 21, 1961. The Sigma colors are Lavender and Maroon and their flower is the violet The Sigma Sweetheart this year was Spencer Emison and their big brothers were E.G. Bradshaw, Hal Williams, Chip Mavwell, Kevin Eichelberger, Gordon Sobel, and Tom Ingrim This year ' s activities included tray favors at the beginning of the year. Thanksgiving, Halloween and, Valentines Day. collecting money for March of Dimes, pumpkin carving party, provided the soccer kick and toilet bowl throw at the Halloween Arts Festival, and won first place in the Homecoming Banner Contest. What is a Sigma Kappa woman? A member of SAM a Masqued Player a Cheerleader and a member of WCF. Most of all she ' s loyal, responsible, places much emphasis on friendship, sisterhood, and academic excellence. 20

Dorm Council Receiving special recognition this year, is the Dorm Council. Originally the dorm council was set up in order for dances to be organized and to take any complaints or special requests. This years activities included: Dances at New Hall, and Open Dorm at both Centennial and New Hall. This year our dorm council officers were: Pres. Vicki Harmon, Vice-Pres. Jennifer Kuykendall, Sec. Alpha Xi Gamma is a local sorority whose main purpose is to socially help people on campus and in the community. Their advisor is Dr. Genevieve Wiggins. The flower is the Pink Rose and their colors are blue and gold. Their activities included a fish pond at the Halloween Carnival, Christmas shopping with needy children, operated concession stands at both basketba and soccer, and they sold flowers for Homecoming. Who is an Alpha Xi woman? She ' s an R.A. choir member yearbook editor cheerleading mascot an ambassador a member of Alpha Chi and Who ' s Who. Their officers are Pres. Kim Mason; Vice-Pres.
