IN RECOGNITION For forty-two years Miss Moffitt faithfully rendered her services toward an enrichment of the musical life at Wesleyan, and in the city of Athens as well. She rep- resented the best in music and was an ardent example in her field. Although she had not been well for several years, she courageously carried on, never giving up until the very end. She truly gave her life to her art. In recognition of her faithful and merited service, of her love and devotion for Tennessee Wesleyan, and of the dedication of herself to the task of instilling in the students a love for the finer appreciation of music, we fondly dedicate this 1944 Nocatula to the late Frances Cullen Moffitt.

President ' s Message To the Members of the Graduating Class of 1944: I am happy to have this privilege of greeting you, that I may add one more word to those that I have ad- dressed to you from time to time during these two years. First, let me say that we shall miss you from the campus. You have woven your life into the life of the College. We shall always consider you a part of the Col- lege. While experiencing this regret at your leaving, we share with you some of the joyful anticipation that you have of entering upon new fields of endeavor either in advanced college work or in the work-a-day world. We believe that each of you will make a distinct contribution in one form or another towards building a better world. We pray God ' s blessing upon you as you endeavor to make such contribution.
