FOREWORD FORWARD MARCH! The theme that almost entirely dominated our thoughts during this year. Our own AMERI- CAN WAY — our football, ice cream, silk hose, pop-corn, bob- bie pins and Coca Colas being brought to our attention too evidently when we had to learn to survive without. But that wasn ' t much in our land of Freedom, not to us who had the privilege of attending college and selecting a vocation which would promote individually as well as a whole. In the succeeding pages may you be reminded of the days when our liberty and equality was challenged. As we re- gretted Johnny ' s leaving, yet highly praised his accomplish- ments for this good ole ' U. S. A.; as we regretted the interrup- tion, but were more than willing to stand for what we believe is right, so as you consider this account of our days together, may the prayer, which has become so prevalent in our thinking, be always in your heart and constantly before you — God Bless America!

DEDICATION TO PROFESSOR S. C. EVINS, the Senior Class makes this dedication with no reservations, for it has been well earned in the services he has rendered to each of us. When our sky looked cloudy, he could always bring a ray of sunshine, showing a purpose behind any action we couldn ' t understand. He has dedicated himself to the task of instilling in in- quiring students a love for the finer in literature, an analytical mind, and an appreciation of the creative arts; and although his sometimes inquisitive nature made us shake in our shoes, this martyr of learning, never failed in his wit and humor to remain a distinct individual. He stands as a symbol of achievement in the realm of books, at all times sincere and genuine in his opinion, and in our thinking he will remain a master craftsman of the classroom.
