MIGHTY VIKINGS! Co-Conference Champions and City Cham- pions— these titles describe Tennessee High’s tremendous football season. In his second season as head coach, Fred Keller built up the players through rugged summer practices, and then piloted his team to an 8-2 record. Paced by defensive stalwarts John Keller, Danny Large, Danny Cook, Delmar Harring- ton, Jimmy Butcher, and Doug Williams, and offensive standouts David Booher, Marty Win- ched, Buddy Royston, and Eddie Barnes; the Norsemen proved to be one of THS’s finest teams. The year was overshadowed by a heart- breaking loss to Morristown which cost the Vikings sole possession of the Big Seven Con- ference title and was highlighted by wins over Johnson City and Virginia High.
