Food, Food, Food.... “Lunchtime!” Suddenly the hallways of THS are crowded. Students are practically running to put their books away. Who will take us to lunch today?” is asked. Generally, one out of a group of several friends will know someone who has a car. Suddenly, all vehicles leaving the Mill Avenue parking lot look like sardine cans. For 35 minutes the students are transformed into free wheeling teenagers who are not worried about homework, tests or other tension causing problems that are part of the school day. They invade and take over nearby fast food outlets. Just being somewhere off campus is as much a part of the joy as is the eating of America’s favorite foods. After all, no one, but no one, eats on campus, particularly not in the cafeteria. That’s the place for freshmen and other underclass elements of the society. Hurrying to finsh their meal at McDonlds are Seniors Ron Jenkfi Mike Aranda and Junior Brian Winiesdorffer. Talking to someone at a nearby table is senior Leo Gilmartin. Senior Wayne McCabe was trying to decide whether he wanted a small or a large order of french fries. Everyone must have decided to go to Burger King. Waiting in I became a pain. Just ask Juniors Suzanne Bagley and Dave Roll! Suzanne wanted them to hurry with Dave's order so she would aet another tardy. 26 -Student Life

And after school we When the dismissal bell rang at the end of seventh hour, students scattered to the winds. Their destinations were almost as varied as were the colors of the clothes they wore. Many went home, particularly if they had to ride the bus. Others headed for after- school jobs. If they were out for an athletic team, they went to the gym for a quick change into a practice or game uniform. Many attended meetings of the clubs organized on campus. Some, worried about classroom problems, sought out teachers for extra help. A few participated in intramural sports such as racketball. During most of the year, there was generally a group practicing for a play, dance or music performance in the auditorium. And, there was always a handful of students waiting at curbside for mom or dad to come pick them up. Going in after school and asking Mr. Viclch to go over a ne concept discussed earlier in the day during his Algebra-Trig clat was Sophomore Timmy Newman. Going over the agenda for an after-school Interact Club meeting with sponsor Mr. Rich Torres were Practicing his serve in the shade because it was too hot out in tl Seniors Vernon Richardson and Missy Goitia. sun was tennis Coach Gary Shahan. 28 - Student Life
