SWEETHEART DANCE February 8th was the night chosen for the annual Sweetheart dance, sponsored by the Sophomore class, and held in the band room. The Sophomore Attendants for the coronation crowned Nancy Arnold, Queen and Tom Suhr, King. Candidates for the elected royalty were: Nancy Arnold, Joan Berner, Penny Jewell, Carol Ramsey, Tom Suhr, Steve Waring, Richard Martin, Mike Kavanaugh, and Dale Holben. Freshman class attendants were Cheryl Davis and Steve Jewell. Juniors were Linda Goracke and Bob McNergney.

THE SENIOR CLASS PROPHECIES Due to Steve Warings election as 42nd President the U. S. may return to the Dark Ages. Tom and Bob Burns have been hired by the Library of Congress as book ends for the world's largest encyclopedias. President J. B. Wenzl announces an increase in stock dividends in Wenzl Elevator Shoe Company. Senator T. J. Suhr of Nebraska proposes new 20 hour work week. Lacey's Renta-Hurt Car features at low terms a white '58 Ford known as The Bullet, it's shot. James Harold Stauffer opened a new barber shop on the corner of 12th Vine, known as Harry's Clip Joint. A fire wiped out Jerry Dittmer's chicken ranch at Walla Walla, Washington Friday. Over 30,000 chickens were destroyed. Saturday Mr. Dittmer invited the neighbors in for broasted chicken. Terry Scharton was arrested for impersonating a woman. Gary Pope was arrested for impersonating a man. Wednesday was the grand opening of Friendly Ray's Bar and Grill. Gypsy Rose Ramsey will star in the Academy Award winning show The Bearskin Rug. Cyrus McCormick Kuhl has invented a one man haybailer, powered by his wife Elaine. Benny's Beauty Salon is now featuring the 10, 20, and 30 pound treatment. Kev Campbell, a forest ranger in Estes Park, has caught Smokey the Bear sneaking cigarettes behind a giant redwood tree. Shirley Kroeze has been hospitalized after being hit in the back of the head with her surfboard. Ray Anthony Ditlevson, the famous trumpet player, burst his jugular vein while blowing a high C.
