{SCHOOL DAYS} Fourth Day We enjoyed a gala evening at the popular Pincka-tero, owned by Edward Pinck.ert, and his sister, Marie who is his assistant and doorwoman. I presume that she got this position because of her ability to handle people while playing basketball during her high school days. I was much surprised to see among the smart nightlife Senator Robert Wolken in the company of Betty Allen, the a ccomplish'-'d rhumba dancer. Also present were I a-verne Gurry, renowned scientist, and Dorothy Langley, the Florence Nightingale of this era. Dorothy Ann Dunlap was the featured swing singer with Emil; Westwood’s Flutie Fluters. The master of ceremonies was Wayne Blue who started his announcing career over a Peru, Nebraska radio station. Edith Meade, and Eetty Rosakrens were billed as Dancing Sisters. 11 Fifth Pay At file' 1948 Olympics we watched Vivian Fogle, coached by Roy Green, soar her way to fame with her intricate three and one-half back flip in diving. Wilma Schultz and Ellen Villars tied in swimming the quarter mile in one minute, so the • loving cup had to be cut and each girl took half. Sixth Day The desire of Helen Johnson, Metropolitan Opera Star to take a Hawaiian vacation incognito was spoiled by a newsman, Tom Grof, when he snapped pictures of her at the dock and started a rush of autograph hunters. Also sailing for Hawaii were Marjorie Dahl and her fourth husband, Glen Xritue , automobile manufacturer. Something must have happened, for I didn’t seem to finish writing the rest of the trip. I'm sure none of whet I aid write ever haopened, so I'll just tear out these pages, throw then away and see what does happen. Ruth Huston
