FFA kindly volun- teered to haul Ms. Casey to the hospital just before Melissa was born. Vice-Principal Ed Robison isn't as excited as Beverly Monday; but. both work hard. THERE ARE NO SMALL PARTS, only small actors. Tecumseh High School has a role for everyone. It happens every night in over 20 organizations. From Beta Club to FTA, there's a place for you. Student Coun- cil, FCA, Librarian's Club, Science Club and others give every student a chance to step into the spotlight. Pictures (Clockwise from left) Cheryl O’Dell gets in the swing of things at the Fall Senior Social. The front step is the place to be in the morning. Just ask Doris Reed. It takes hours of practice to make a marching band. Coaches Williams and Bradshaw are more than willing to have their picture made. Next, Teddie Blaine heads for her first hour class. (clockwise from left) Senior, Kaye Westervelt tosses her baton way up high to the delight of Savage fans. Tecumseh Lake was a good spot for Brenda Scott and Toni Burch to do some manual labor. There's music in the air from 2 choruses, a marching band, a concert band, and a stage band. Onstage bursts onstage each year with outstanding productions. THS has placed many drama students in well-known theatre departments throughout the Southwest. If you got rythm, modern dance and gymnastics were added to the curriculum this year. OUR NEW HOME!! The old temporary building will soon be a thing of the past. And when it goes, so will many, many memories. September came with a big shuffle. Students came back to find nothing where it once was. But, when everything settled down, there was nothing to do but wait. And finally the new building welcomed us with open arms. Fresh- men got the new, old building. Home Ec. and Music got the old, old building. Art and Spe- cial Ed. got the old. old, old building. Drama found itself in the old Vo-Ag building. Confus- ing as it sounds, life went on as usual.(Pic- tured are shots of the new school in construc- tion and the looks on most faces while we wait- ed, and waited, and waited, and waited...... 17 (right) Alva Melot Superintendent (right) Cl eta Johnson Secretary BOARD OF EDUCATION (left to right) Bill Straughan, Lonnie Hurst, Darrell Coker, Jesse McCullar, Jim Pritchard THE ENFORCERS (opposite left to right) ED MALZACHER, Principal Buddy Lawson, Vice Principal Betty Wallace, Secretary THE BLACKBOARD JUNGLE 24 Susan McNabb, Eng. But work paid off at the annual summer clinic they attended in Norman where they brouqht home a variety of rib- bons and were chosen outstanding squad. Pep assemblies, Football games, wrestlinq matches, and basketball games -all are a part of being a cheerleader, but all nine or them would instantly agree that they wouldn't trade places, or memories with any member of the student body. The girls chosen as royalty at THS oughta be in pictures and that's where we've put them. The last yearbook queen of the seven- ties is Terri Johnson, nominated by the Senior Class. Chosen as 1st runner up was Desiree Davidson (Beta Club). 2nd run- ner up was Carol Green (Onstage) and 3rd runner up was Peggy Robinson (Boy's Basketball). Yearbook Queens from the past decade assisted in the coronation. THE QUEEN OF SILVER SCREEN THE 101 RAE LYNN ANDERSON W.C. The bleachers shook and rumbled as the junior class of '79 stomped and cheered to prove their pride in THS. The juniors had the spirit and won the spirit contest more than any other class at the pep as- semblies. (No one seems to be able to explain why the juniors are so full of spirit, but per- haps it's because they're looking so for- ward to being seniors.) 13S Phil Barnes Rodney Beaver Jodie Berndt Jody Black Tina Blackwell Terry Blankenship Delores Boring Kelly Bowen Lisa Bowen Terry Abernathy Terry Allen Billy Amerson Dana Asher Terri Austin Laura Avers GREASE IS THE WORD Cheyenne Brown Donald Brown Jeff Brown Wade Cagle Allen Carston LaDonna Darby Jimmy Deatherage Robert Caskey Paula Chamblin Mark Cheatwood Steve Degraffenreid Susan Ely Donald Essary Tina Clark Roger Claus Julie Coatney Mark Cole Rhonda Fare Angela Finley Jim Fire Donna Fisher 136 SPONSORS AND OFFICERS: S. The large group at left is the winners at the Star Conference Scholastic Meet, at which THS placed second. Only Bristow could top •em. Voted Ugly Man on Campus was Steve de Graffenreid. Darla Lane was there to support the Savage baseball team. WHAT IS SPRING without baseball? Or Tecum- seh without baseball, for that matter?
