Class Will We, the Class of 1961, having suffered the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,” and being of unquestionable sanity and shaken body, do leave in a final blaze of greatness the following objects that we may be remembered for something other than our outstanding achievement, and that we may be forever enshrined in Tech's illustrious history. Connie Wrobleski leaves her perfume to linger on forever in the Tech News office. John Davis leaves his camel saddle to any nominal Arab in the Freshman or Junior Classes. Rick Stowe leaves his camshaft in the Tech News office having no other place to put it. Phil Tetreault and Dave Kos leave the Photography Club in even worse shape than it is now. Brian Daury leaves his brain to Mr. Curran’s biolog class and his latest book, HOW TO MAKE INTELLI- GENT GUESSES, to college-bound members of the class of ‘62. The 4th year French class leaves Miss Roy ‘‘taped” up in the language lab. Russ Streeter leaves his golden curls to Mr. Sprague. Georgie Cohen leaves his cha-cha slippers to any junior football player who can wiggle. Ray Bevivino leaves his raccoon coat to the ad- vanced biology class so they can dissect it. Jim Sebolt leaves his ‘nothing box’’ to Dave Nicoli, who will make a “something box” out of it. Stanley Liszka leaves 1087 feet of orange and black crepe paper and one dozen pigeons to Wayne Fisher. Rich Griffin leaves his speed to Ron Grassetti. Sallie Bonelli leaves the rides on the elevator to with the boys on cleanup day to Niki Mylonakis. Sue Towne leaves the mirror in the girls’ room to all the freshman and junior girls who have been trying to use it. JoAnn Plasse leaves her list of ex-boyfriends and thwarted suitors to all junior girls. (There are enough to go around!) Bob “Dobie” Ziemian leaves Myron ‘’Maynard” Smith. All senior girls who wear nylons leave the lunch- room stools to the shop boys to be sanded. Danny Diamond leaves his Roman numeral slide rule to John Keyes. John Sullivan leaves a big hole in the Tiger line. The Senior Class leaves its congratulations to Tech's most famous teachers, Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Johnson. (Ya get it?) The Senior Class leav es to Mr. Rudolph “Big Daddy” Huter a volume of ‘‘way-out’’ American slang. The Tech News staff wills Miss Mary Shea some bright orange paint in order that next year’s staff may carry on the “patriotic’’ redecoration of the Tech News office. WILL COMMITTEE Margie Czaja leaves 3 moles (the four-legged variety) to Mr. Dooley. Ray Dooley and Mary-Lou Dragone leave their votes for best actor and supporting actor to Doctor Candon and Cornelius Hannigan. The Senior Class leaves “Ants In The Ear”’ to Silas Marner. Leroy Williams leaves his ripe football socks, his nickname “Sweetwater,” and his big grin to ‘Silent’ Eugene. The starting line on the football team leaves eleven Johnson's plastic strips to Phil ‘Don't get hurt!’ Hart. The Tech Tiger staff leaves a pile of soggy lolli-pop sticks to Mr. Sidney “Pike’s Peak or Bust’’ Doane. George Roy leaves his slide rule to anyone who wants to draw straight lines. Russ Samay leaves the only hic-coughing engine in auto shop to Mike Gentile. (Good Luck!) George Mortimer leaves his water-wings to John Rivers .. . . Glub, glub, glub. Susan Bonelli leaves her stock of yummy frozen foods to next year’s Betty Crocker winner. Linda Thayer leaves a stream of withering males outside the Tech Tiger office to Dina ‘Knock ‘em dead” Spadoni. Lynda Kretschmar, Gail Berte, Linda Ross, and Dolly Guertin leaves four pairs of slightly moldy majorette boots to Diane MacKenzie, Shirley Lyons and any other unfortunate majorettes ... May they grow greener every year. Hand-shake victims leave their broken fingers to Mr. Dolan. The class of ‘61 leaves a gold-plated attendance sheet to Mr. ‘Happy Harry” Vatousiou. The football and hockey teams leave their desire to Mr. Mason. Dan Socha leaves his soccer shoelaces to Rich “The Toe” Soja. “Deacon” Ray Jordan leaves his abiity to tackle well and still have a “twisting” class afterward in the locker room to Don ‘‘The Hoop” Palmer. Jim Cummings leaves his motorcycle boots to Mr. Pasini. John ‘Slasher’ Lasher leaves his hockey stick to Mike Byrnes. The class of ‘61 leaves Comet cleanser to Mr. Alphonse “Ajax” Jackowski. John Cullen leaves his “revised’’ copy of Word Wealth to any illiterate junior who wishes to re- main so. Bruce Baumann leaves his collection of science- fiction paper-backs so that junior PSSCers will have something to do in class. Bernie. Currantleaves ©) 2-59... os. again! Well, Here we are! We're all finished with school. Who can believe that those three years have gone by so fast? And the blessed day has finally arrived - Graduation!!! Remember our freshman year? Ray Bevivino was elected President; Randy Adams, Vice-President; Linda Thayer, Secretary; and Lynda Kretschmar, Treasurer. What a group! Our first dance, Hawaiian Holiday, filled the gym with an enchanting Polynesian atmosphere. It was a big success. During our Junior year, Ray Bevivino was again President; Linda Thayer was Secretary and Kathy Corliss was Treasurer. We held two dances, Calypso Chaos, and our Junior Prom, ‘Evening In Rome’. Our class took the distinct honor of being the first to have a choice of two class rings, and participated in almost all activities that Tech offered. ; And who will ever forget our Senior year? We won the eg Lockjaw spreads to the hall S.A. Race and an extra cash bonus. Remember all the big and of Tech ! ! little arguments we all had about the Kennedy-Nixon election? Senior Didi Lauriente was crowned queen of the Red Cross dance. Bob Ziemian was class President; Fred Kowaleski, Vice-President; Barbara Cocchi, Secretary; Kathy Corliss, Treasurer. Yes, we will have many hilarious and wonderful moments to look back on. The decorations for our first dance of the year, Desert Song, were just out of this world! Then there was our winter dance, the Senior Prom, our fabulous banquet at Shine Inn, Class Day, and most important of all - graduation. That long walk to the stage and the final moment when we finally got our diplomas will long live in our hearts. Three school years behind us and over fifty years ahead. We thank the entire Tech family for all they have done. We know these past three years will prepare us for our life ahead and for more stepping toward that favorite goal. m and S couple’ off _ mind wh®s the teacher - -- We want to w the subject! ! eens 5 jo OE Ry ce Homeroom 103 Bottom row, left to right: Charles Christiansen, Thomas Charest, Frank Bamber, Randall Stewart, Joseph Downey, Henry Boucher, Robert Belniak, Henry Flebotte. Now that our second marvelous year at Tech comes to an end, let’s take a minute to look back through the album of memories which we have collected. On the first page, we find pictures of our first class leaders: Jerry Gagliarducci, president; Don Palmer, vice-president; Rocco Carabette, treasurer; and Pat Hosley, secretary. On the next page we find the pictures taken at our freshman dance, ‘May Magic”: the pot of gold, the rainbow, the flowers. Remember?? Then came the time when we were no longer freshmen. The turning pages reveal many pictures: those of our Junior officers; Jim Sternowski, president; Don Palmer, vice-president; Pam Roebuck, treasurer; and Dale Randall, secretary. These four officers were aided by the helpful advice of our class advisors: Miss Bartley, Mr. Dunn, Mrs. Fein, Mr. Reid, Mr. Loiko, Miss Anna Shea, and Mr. Bushey as class auditor. Our Junior Dance, “Harvest Moon,” was a great success. After passing through an orange, brown, and yellow decorated door, the couples stepped into a quaint harvest scene, complete with an enormous moon hanging over a wagon decorated with hay and pumpkins. Yes, looking back is fun, but anticipating the future holds in store even more excitement. The day is not too far away when we will be the big wheels. See you next year, Tech!!! DIANE NELSON President KATHLEEN SULLIVAN Secretary The incoming class of 1963 did not hesitate before upsetting convention and leaving an unusual mark in Tech's annals. For the first time since the class of 1950, a girl was elected to lead the class. Diane Nelson led a vigorous campaign to victory. Assisting her were Wayne Fischer as vice-president, Kathy O'Sullivan as secretary, and Pat Connor as treasurer. In the spring, the class discovered the thrill and useful. WAYNE FISCHER Vice-President PAT CONNOR Treasurer excitement of planning their first dance. The dance, an informal one, was only more evidence of ‘63's spirit. Serving as advisors to. the class are Mr. McMahon, Miss Cormack, and Mrs. Shannon. Boost- ing S.A. membership is Mr. Donovan, class auditor. Congratulations ‘63 for a successful year! Richard Stowe, ‘61, Dave Nicoli, ‘60, and Gail Berte,’61, capably assumed their responsibilities as president, vice-president, and secretary re- spectively. Chosen to aid the officers in planning interesting and varied pro- grams for the year were Lynda Kretschmar, Linda Thayer, and Robert Ziemian. One of the most interesting programs was the trip to the Museum of Natural History. Dr. Frank Korkosy, the director of the museum and the designer of the first planetarium in the United States, led the group through the museum and gave a lecture cn space and missiles. The “cream of the crop” also contributed their support to get the S.A. “boost” underway, showing the school that the purpose of the Society was not only the educational spirit but the traditional TECH SPIRIT! The Concert Choir, Boys’ Chorus, and Girls’ Chorus joined together to sing a medley of songs from ‘Music Man.” The vocal selec- tions were superbly by Mr. Keggerreis. The band, directed by Mr. Myers, per- formed six instrumental works which were high- ly enjoyed by the audience. Thus, the curtain slowly closed on another Spring Concert. erts The blithe spirit of Yuletide reigning through the halls of Tech each year can only be exalted by the beautiful music presented to all at the Christmas Concert under the direction of Richard Keggerris and Warren Myers. This year the Concert Choir sang excerpts from “Christmas Around the World.’ Among the selections done by the mass chorus were “Hallelujah Chorus” from the ‘’Messiach,” “Angels We Have Heard On High,” ‘Bring a Torch,” and familiar Christmas carols. The Girls’ Sextet added a frolic note to the program with ‘Let it Snow” and ‘Silver Bells.” If music was not already ringing in the air from the singing, the band surely set it ringing and ticking with ‘In a Clock Store,’’ “Yuletide Fes- tival,’” and ‘White Christmas.” The Mass Chorus. Our enthusiastic faculty, keeping up with the legendary Tech spirit, always lends a hand to help with any and all assemblies. The very beginning of all assemblies is an example of Tech spirit.
