During the second week of September the TAUSSIG departed Subic Bay and sailed to Bacolod City on the Island 'of Negros in the Philippines. This was the first time a United States Navy surface vessel had been to Bacalod since 1962 and all hands eagerly awaiting this show the flag visit. The three day visit was filled with various athletic events, dinners, dances, recep- tions, and general visiting -many lasting friendships were made during this short visit and the men of the Taussig departed this City of Friendship reluctantly.
