-W ,QSM X WN During the second month of the cruise Captain Gravely celebrated his birthday with an unusual birthday cake, an enormous tranquilizer pill. The Captain said that it was his 39th birthday but some of us suspect that he said the same thing last year, possibly the year before too. Whatever the number of it, the Captain illustrated that he was still young enough to bring the image of the TAUSSIG TIGER to the West Pacific and make everyone realize that itwas more than a motto. Takingthe greatest pride in the ship's motto We Are Ready Now, Sir , the Captain led the TAUSSIG to one of its most success- ful deployments during the three wars since 1944 when she was commissioned.
