- V .... .,,,,v.. W --,,.-v,...,,,...,.,,.. EXECUTI E OFFICER A.B. HALLMAN LCDR USN LCDR Albert B. HALLMAN was born in Dallas, Texas, on Februay 2, 1927. He attended various Secondary Schools in Texas and was commissioned Ensign, U. S. Navy, after graduation from the U. S. Naval Academy in June 1948. He was advanced to his present rank on 1 March 1959. After receiving his comission, LCDR HALLMAN's first assignment was U. S. S. FLOYD B. PARKS CDD-8845 where he served as Ass't Engineer and Damage Control Ofhcer. While attached to the PARKS, LCDR HALLMAN attended the Electronics Material School at T. I., San Francisco, California, for six months. Upon detachment from the PARKS in June 1950, he attended the Submarine School at New London, Connecticut. After qualifying as a submariner, LCDR HALLMAN was ordered to U. S. S. VOLADOR CSS-4905 where he served as Ass't Engineer, and was later the Engineering Officer. He was also assigned duties as the Electronics Officer Commissary and Supply Officer while serving in VOLADOR. After detachment from VOLADOR in December 1952, LCDR HALLMAN was assigned duty in U. S. S. BASHAW CSSK-2415, serving as Engineering Oflicer, Torpedo Sz Gunnery Ofhcer, Electronics Odicer and Sonar Ofhcer, prior to being ordered to U. S. Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California. Graduating from the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School in July 1957, with a BS Degree in Engineering Electronics, LCDR HALLMAN then reported to the U. S. S. SPINAX CSSR-4895 where he served as Executive Officer, Operations Ofhcer and Navigator. He was then transferred to the U. S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D. C. where he served as Elec- tronics and Communications Officer until February 1962. He reported to the Staff, COMCRUDESPAC in March 1962 as Prospective Executive Ofhcer in destroyers. LCDR HALLMAN reported as Executive Ofhcer, U. S. S. TAUSSIG CDD-7463 on 23 April 1962. His theatre and campaign ribbons include: American Theatre, World War II Victory, Navy Occupation, China Service, National Defense, Korean Service, and United Nations. LCDR HALLMAN is married to the former Miss Dorothy Bowden of Wichita Falls, Texas. They have two children, Jeffrey, age 8, and Elizabeth, age 4. They now reside at 5101 September Street, San Diego, California.

OFFICER o.K. HALLAM CDR USN Commander Orval K. Hallam was born in Hinsdale, Montana, on June 26, 1923. He attended the University of Texas, and was graduated as an Ensign in the NROTC program in 1946. He was advanced to his present rank on 1 November, 1962. Commander Hallam first served in the U. S. S. RANGER CCV-45 as Assistant First Division Officer from June 1946 until October 1946. At that time he was transferred to the COMSERVLANT staff, serving as Fleet Camera Party Plotting Officer until October, 1949. Commander Hallam spent the next four months at Damage Control School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was thereupon transferred to the U. S. S. RENSHAW CDDE-4495 where he served as Damage Control Assistant until promoted to Engineer Officer in October 1951. Upon his detachment from the RENSHAW in October 1951, Commander Hallam attended the U. S. Naval Gunnery School at San Diego after which he attended the U. S. Navy General Line School in Monterey, California, where he graduated in July 1953. Commander Hallam's next billet was First Lieutenant on the U. S. S. ACHERNAR CAKA-53D. He became Navigator of this ship in June 1954, and held that position until he was transferred to the U. S. Naval Mine Warfare School at Yorktown, Virginia in March 1955. ' From June until October, 1955, Commander Hallam was the Prospective Commanding Officer of the U. S. S. PINNACLE CMSO-4625. He held the position of Commanding Officer aboard this ship until March 1957. Commander Hallam's next billet took him to Washington where he served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations as Motion Picture Technical Advisor until July, 1957. In the next two years, Commander Hallam attended the Navy Post-Graduate School in Monterey, California and was graduated in August 1959 with a Master of Science Degree. He was transferred to COMINRON SEVEN Staff where he served as Chief Staff Ofhcer until February, 1960. He was then transferred to the COMINPAC Staff where he served as Mines Ofhcer until July, 1961. In August, he became a destroyer Prospective Executive Officer on the staff of COMDESFLOT THREE until he was transferred the following month to become Executive Officer- of the U. S. S. BLACK CDD-6663. Commander Hallam assumed Command of the TAUSSIG on February 11, 1963. His theatre and campaign ribbons include: American Theatre WW H, World War II Victory, United Nations with one star, Korean War, and Korean Presidential. I Commander Hallam is married to the former Miss Charlotte Jones of Sheridan, Wyoming. He and his wife have one teen-age son, Orval Keith, Jr. They now reside at 3621 Kingsley Street in San Diego.
