Dedication
MRS. J. G. HOWARD
As an inspiring teacher of English, a wise and sympathetic counselor, an efficient sponsor of the newspaper, and a successful director of the Quiz 'Em teams, Mrs. J. G. Howard has won our love and admiration.
In recognition of her valuable service to the school and in appreciation of her wonderful spirit of helpfulness, we dedicate this 1954 edition of the Wildcat to Mrs. Howard.

Foreword
In this book we on the annual staff have tried to give you a glance backward at your life for the past year. We hope that as you re-envision these scenes, you realize that these pleasures have been yours because of the aspirations and ideals which teachers and students of former years have bequeathed to the school, and thus to you. Let this legacy inspire you with the will to attain higher standards, with the desire for wisdom, and with the school spirit which will make Tarrant High School go down as an honored name in history.
When years have passed and you again leaf through your 1954 Wildcat, recalling your wonderful school days, may the sight of old friends’ faces bring back memories that are as sweet as a haunting melody. May this book remind you of the laughter and the tears that were a part of the good old days at Tarrant High School.

Alma Mater
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater. Here's our praise to you!
Hail to Tarrant, hail our high school! Tis the name we love. Hail thy children now and ever. Who shall come to thee!
Guide art thou in youthful school days. Banner. Gold and Blue. With the Gold of light around her. Blue of truth above.
May our hetirts in love united. Faithful always be.
Raise your voices, swell the chorus. Sing of Gold and Blue:
Alma Mater, we adore thee And we'll aye be true.
