FFA TAKES HONORS Jessie Hayes works on cedar chest. The Future Farmers of America is a nonprofit, non- political, farm youth organization of voluntary member- ship, designed to take its place along with other agencies striving for the development of leadership, the building of a more permanent agriculture, and the improvement of country life. It constitutes one of the most efficient agri- cultural teaching devices that has been discovered up to the present time. The FFA is 100% American in its ideals and outlooks and has no outside affiliations. There is no secrecy in connection with any of its activities. 20

EUGENE BEZJAK HEADS SAFETY PATROL Safety Patrol carries out another precision fire drill. The Tappahannock High School Safety Patrol under the guidance of its sponsor, Mr. Jones, and the leadership of its Captain, Eugene Bezjak, has obtained its goal to make this the safest year possi- ble The members enjoyed a tour of the Henrico Police Department where they learned the value of safety and of working with the police department to obtain it. 21
