OFFICE STAFF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE This year the Executive Committee has discussed school activities and im- portant problems. The members passed on all student body funds spent, ap- pointed special committees, approved athletic awards and blocks for track, football, and so forth, and recommended constitutional amendments to bring before the student body, The Executive Committee is composed of all student officers, class representatives, the editor of the Tamalpais News, the Honor NTT' Cfrand Oracle, Girls' Association president and presidents of the Girls' and Boys' Self Governments. STUDENT CONGRESS Members of the Student Congress, Tam s legislative organization, include all class officers with the exceptzon of class representatives, all club presidents and student body officers, The duty of Congress is to propose constitutional amendments. Then the amendments are set before the student body for a vote lim Benefield and Sherm Hall, the year s student body presidents, pre- sided over the Congress in the fall and spring, respectively. During che tall term Low Senior lim Benetield was president of the Student Body, and the Tam-San Rafael Inter-School Relations Committee to promote better feeling between the two schools was one ol his first accomplishments. For the first time in Tarns history senior sweaters were designed and could be bought by all seniors, Two ot the original amendments to the Constitution were dropped and six new ones were added. ln the spring Sherman Hall was elected president and during his admini- stration the Tam-San Rafael joint dance was held. Many more programs were brought to the student body. Those serving under President Beneiield in the fall were: lim Chapman, vice president, Doug Land, secretary, Bill Barker, treasurer, and San Harris, yell leader. The fall Girls' Association president was Phyl Kotite, and assisting her were Kay Lloyd vice presidentg Carolyn Huber, secretaryg and Marion Stratton, yell leader, Under Phyls leadership the first girls' activity of the year was the semi-annual Freshman Reception. Then the girls entertained their mothers at the Mothers' Tea and held a Christmas banquet. The new term started with the Freshman Reception under the direction of newly-elected President loan Guess. After beating Commerce 4-2, the lndians succumbed to a Q-6 defeat at the hands of the Poly Parrots. The San Francisco AAA champs, the Mission Bears, sent the lndians down to a close 4-3, and in a return game the lndians ruined Poly, 9-6. After that, two games with Marin were scheduled. The lndians went nine innings in the first, with the affair called at 6-6. The second was a complete victory for the locals, as they mangled the Tars , 7-3, Q . . .
