Pajama dogs--whether they be rust, pink, tan or orange will bring back memories to the juniors of '57--'58. The reason? Every junior who sold 325.00 worth or more of subscriptions in the magazine campaign received one. Sharon Bidwell was high salesmang Duane Riha secondg and Ronald Christensen third. In team competition, the girls out- sold the boys. The Homecoming float entitled We Auto Win won second place in the float contest. It represented an old fashioned car and even left a trail of exhaust smoke behind it. Some energetic junior boys braved the cold to pick up corn to earn money for the class treasury and everyone pitched in to help sell at the home football and basketball games. The Junior-Senior Prom Sayonara was held on May 12. Terry Gunderson and his orchestra played. As usual many nights of hard labor were put in by the juniors in making the prom a great success. PIONEER HI-BRED CORN COMPANY 3 The Sophomore class began a busy year by electing the class officers pictured above and Sharon Scott, Roger Hala, and Larry Svacina as Student Senate members. Would you like to buy some candy This question was heard often as the class members worked to raise money. The class homecoming float Roll Over Brooklyn featured a steam roller operated by a Tamahawk running over aBrooklyn Bear, Eighteen of the sophomores were chosen as servers for the prom. The girls wore Japanese kimonas and the boys wore Japanese style clothes and shoes. The servers were: Sharon Scott, Bob Brecht, Sally Kriegel, John Willett, Suzi Loftus, Larry Svacina, Jean Dolash, Wesley Sebetka, Diane Ternus, Sam Salamone, Faith Lewis, David Peters, Martha Metcalf, Pat Skala, Barbara Breja, Gary Anderson, Jerilyn Stump and Jerry Potter. The group made a very impressive showing at preliminary contest with twenty-four division I ratings. Seven students went on to state speech contest, which was a good representation for Tama. Jerry Potter received a division I rating and all other state contestants received division Il ratings. For the first time in the history of T.H.S. a debate team was organized. Mr. Pettengill coached the debators. At an assembly program for the student body, a great deal of interest was aroused by an exhibition debate. The future of the speech program looks very promising, with many experienced under- classmen and the loss of only five seniors. LEFT TO RIGHT: J. Duffy, G. Van De Walle, A. Ingles, Mr. Pettengill, J.
