L to R: Mary Forrester, Butch Loftus, Anne Ingles SOPHOMORES The shy freshmen of 1954-55 turned into a friendly and ve ry active class of sophomores. The sophomores were represented in nearly every extra-curricular activity this year. The class officers were president, Anne Inglesg vice-president,Butch Loftusg secretary-treasurer, Mary Forrester. These people did a fine job of directing the business affairs of the class. The sophomores joined with the freshmen for the party Showboat . Butch Loftus and Mary Forresterwere crowned king and queen. To help finance theparty the sophomores had a refreshment stand at two basket- ball games. The girls also hada candy sale and the boys donated money. In this class of 62 sophomores there are A-1 scholars, musicians, speakers, and basketball, football, and baseball players. All of these go to make up one of the best sophomore classes that Tama High School has ever had. 'T HE SHOWBOAT , ,... v I1 K T S ' . x RA EBY'S SPORTING GOODS TAMA FURNITURE STORE ROYAL DAIRY 24

' it , K 1 f r f 1 5 4 The freshmen enjoyed their initiation, even though, the customs were ridiculous. The fresh- men girls were not accustomed to dressing like boys, nor the boys like the girls. Larrie Kasal and Darwin Zhorne were crowned king and queen of the freshmen party held last fall. Faith Lewis, Karen Cooper, Leroy Kellogg and Larry Riffle were attendants. For the first time freshmen sold at two bas- ketball games. Though they had their troubles they had their fun and earned money, which went toward their party. The freshmen will never forget the speech c onte st with which they helped. Some were timers, others were guards, and others took or sold tickets. The sophomores and freshmen had a joint party March 7. Attendants from the freshman class were Karen Cooper, Janet McRoberts, Timmy Tower, and Darwin Zhorne.
