SENIOR CLASS CLASS OFFICERS Presrdent Rrchard Porter Secretary Lyle Fersel Vrce Pres Barbara Marshall Treasurer Audrey Belton Lest we forget let us turn back the hours of t1me to revlew some of the accompllshments and enjoyable events of the past four years As stu dents of the freshman class of 1949 50 we felt young and lnexperlenced but rt d1dn't take too long after enter1ng the halls of T H S that we began to take part rn many act1v1t1es and to shoulder our share of respons1b1l1t1es We senlors have had our share of honors 1n the flelds of vocal muslc sports band and speech In vocal musrc many of the sen1ors were actlve rn the glee clubs m1xed chorus and small vocal groups We were also prlvrleged IH hav1ng several of our students slng ln the All State Chorus Our class was always well represented 1n all sports The athlete's of season th1s past year Mert Kv1dera was chosen on the fourth All State football team and several others were g1ven honorable mentlon The bas ketball team of 1953 won the Tama County Tournament Two outstand1ng semor wrestlers were Drck Formanek and Floyd Prusha From our class twelve were members of the band many bemg f1rst charr players durmg thelr four years of h1gh school An outstand1ng tw1rler was Shrrley Scott The only senror band member to play 1n the All State band was Sharon Mohrfeld Two ma1n stays of the brass sect1on were Dorothy Hanus and Durwood Dav1s Two students who were act1ve 1n speech work for four years were Sharon LaQuette and Sharon Mohrfeld Sharon LaQuette reached the state fmals several years 1n a row Our class became very capable 1n g1v1ng partxes For three years we gave the Chr1stmas school party becommg known for our or1g1nal themes ch as St N ck's Mrx and Ye Old Jmgle Inn Pale Moon' was the name grven to our Junror and Sen1or Prom The Indran theme was followed r1ght down to the last hand pa1nted tepee and canoe Thrs semor class has worked hard and played hard for four years and now we feel we are ready to Journey on mto the future We have been pre pared to do our share and we know that we shall reap what we harvest b cause L1fe 18 a road paved wxth hard work Class Colors Green and Wh1te Class Flower Wh1te Rose Class Motto ' Lrfe rs a road paved wlth hard work I2 ll ' ' our class ended their high school football career by having an undefeated su . i ' : ' . , ll I ' ' ' I e , . . . 0 -- , . . .
