T. Cherry. They are held in high esteem by the community of Tama, and all students 'in T. H. S. regard them as their friends. One of the main interests of the Cherry's has always been the welfare of the young people. For several years in the 1920's and 30's they gave large banquets for the football boys in appre- ciation of their interest in the sport activities of Tama. When the band was organized in 1940 Mrs. Cherry raised most of the money to pur- chase the first uniforms by personally going and contacting all business men for donations. Eleven years later when once again the band needed uniforms she again offered her personal services and for the second time made it possible for the uniforms to be purchased. Seldom has there been a school play without some furniture from the Cherry home. Mr. Cherry passed away in the late fall of 1949. Mrs. Cherry re- sides at their residence on North State Street. No two persons have ever been more thoughtful and generous to the young people. Their home and beautiful lawns are always open to those who wish to enjoy them and Mrs. Cherry is never so happy as when she is doing some kind deed or service for others. , 2 The f1nanc1al success of th1s book IS largely due to these Sponsors The fact that you support our yearly Annual IS proof that you are mterested mn our school work and 1n the young people of today and you deserve the patronage of all On behalf of the Tama I-hgh School and Iuka Staff I want to extend our thanks and deepest apprec1at1on to each one of you Edxtor Sharon L Mohrfeld IUKA SPONSORS Central Flbers Product Company C W Chapman Lumber Company Harr1son s Furnlture and Funeral The Bee H1ve J H Ne1l Creamery Company Mohrfeld's Motel 81 Standard Statmon Spahn and Rose Lumber Company Tama Hatchery and Farm Store Iowa Wood Preservmg Company Gregory s Clothmg Schroeder Master Photographer Tama News Herald B1ll's Beefburger Perry s Clover Farm Store Earl Spooner Grocery Company Dor1s Doran Beauty Shop H1ll's Texaco Iuka Cafe Paul's Store For Men Petersen s Pa1nt Wallpaper Glass Adram Ne1l Company Hall's Grocery Kupkas Meat Market W1eland's Goodyear Store Twm C1ty Laundry Tama Electrlc Company Claude Atwood Insurance Agency Tomahawk Sweet Shop Tama State Bank Tama C11n1c Zobel's Barber and Beauty Tw1n C1ty Motor Company Ford K1lco1n's Ready to Wear Iowa Electrlc Lxght and Power 3 . , . .
