Front row: Marjorie Nelson, Laura lane Novotny, Beulah Overtruf, Beatrice Krezelc NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The l938 National Honor Society has a membership ot eight pupils from the largest class ever to be graduated from Tama High School. Character, service, scholarship and leadership are stressed in the selection ot those who are elected to membership in this society. The outstanding work ot Marjorie Nelson included Editorship ot the luka and an excellent classroom record. lohn Neil showed outstanding creative abilityg he was President of the Senior Class, and a member ot the News Statt. Warren Bogle will be remembered tor his scholastic ability, and tor his tine personality. Beulah Overturt ranked high in scholarship and in dramatic work. Richard Davis was a top notch student, and a member ot the Boys' Quartet, he showed genuine initiative. Beatrice Krezek displayed real personality and contributed greatly to the success of many undertakings: she was Senior Class Vice-President. Laura lane Novotny ranked high in initiative, leadership and dependability: she edited the high school page ot the News-Herald. Paul Liston, in addition to his ability as a student, was concerned with many activities, among them being the photographic work on this Iuka, and the presidency ot the Filmtanatics tor two years. These, then, are the students this year who made the final grade, achieving the much-desired honor ot membership in the National Honor Society. Their attainments torm a goal toward which future aspirants tor membership may well strive. l3
