l CHOIR BANDS Choir Syosset High had every type of outlet: artistic, physical, mental. The choir and chorus are a combination of them all. They encompassed the artistic in their beautiful arrangements, the physical in the power and strength of their performance, and the mental in the thought behind the works. In December the chorus began what we hope will be a tradition: a holiday songfest, with the melodies and tunes of the season of ioy sung in a very wonderful assembly program. Syosset was proudly represented in several out-of-school concerts where they proved themselves excellent ambassadors of one of our finest school organizations. Orchestra

Fair Ophelia, your. . .you. . .er, ah, um. . . The Dramatics Club, a group of bright and shining actors, brilliant in portrayal, sparkling in speech and witty in thought, rivaled the Broadway productions in performance. Cyrano, Witness for the Prosecution, The Hasty Heart, and The Teahouse of the August Moon were all done with exceptional skill. The critics raved, hailed and wel- comed this new outburst of talent in Syosset, hoping that Broadway would somehow benefit from their talent. DRAMA

4 Marching Band You certainly can't count on your fingers the number of musicians we had . . . not even on your toes. First, there was the orchestra, constantly rehearsing for their many performances. The band, competing with the orchestra for top billing, started modestly and increased to fifty-two members: brass, drums and woodwinds. The size of the band grew so large that a marching band was organized and played exuberantly at the football games. A third group, completely divorced from the others, was a swing band. Hint to the class of '79: How about some chamber music to round out the picture? Dance Band
