Section 3 of the North Shore Athletic League was the most improved in the county. We go along with that. Syosset, a powerful block in that highly competitive area, was a hard team with which to contend. The Syosset cagers were led by the in- domitable senior, John Morris who averaged 16 points a game and picked off better than 20 rebounds per contest. The stands, crowded with yelling spectators, were tense with suspense when Chet Lukaszewski's ra- dar shots came swooping through the loop. The defensive star iunior, Dennis Wolownik held down the opponents to below par scores. 70 VARSITY BASKETBALL X

Joe Oill and Mike Evans, Juniors, were high bowlers with 175 and 160, respectively. The high spot of the season came with the upset of tied-for- first-place Clarke with a four-one victory for Syosset.
