Hague, The warriors marched off the gridiron victoriouslyl With football scalps in their belts, the Syosset Braves conquered again. Venerunt, viderunt, vicerunt. Spirits soared to a new high as the second varsity year came to a resounding climax at the home field to place-the Braves second in the North Shore Athletic League, Sec- tion three. Under the able direction of the wise leader, Al Como, and with the help of the assistant coaches the thrity-three Braves improved their game and built a strong defense. The young Braves with its powerful backs, Batza, Kingsbury, Hague, and Erickson, drove for a total of 216 points while the line spearheaded with Vallery, Kimball, Peeler, Cramer, Pecheur, Otis and Gorman. Their defensive held the opposition to 85 points. The 1958-1959 season, the first to establish us as a senior squad, showed how exciting a good competitive sport can be. Long may chief Como and his mighty Braves reign.
