FOREWORD The Class of 1959, and the classes that immediately follow it, have been given a wonderful gift. They are the recipients of a magnificent physical struc- ture, the Syosset High School, and the fine facilities and equipment that go along with it. ln a sense, the student body and the faculty of the school have been handed a mass of unmolded clay, the fulfillment of whose potentialities only awaits the hand of its users. These first graduating classes of Syosset, then, are under an obligation to themselves, to the school, and to future classes, to create a set of precedents and traditions which will individualize Syosset High School. These first few classes must see to it that Syosset carries with it an acceptance of certain uni- versal values, and must make the student body aware of the presence of these values. Now is a crucial time for this school. We can shrug and hand responsibility to someone else, if that happens, this building will remain just another structure. On the other hand, we can resolve to work, and create a mold for Syosset, we would then be giving to those who follow us the wonderful gift of belonging somewhere. STAFF -Q ' S...
