However there is at least one thing that we all have in common. We are all here, even if only for a short time. All those who spend their time here contribute to the creation of a very special community. We come here from all parts of the world. Each of us has a unique past, and each of us is driven by a different dream. In a sense, our meeting here is purely by chance, yet some of our most lasting friendships will begin and flourish here. It is the spirit of these rela- tionships which we have tried to capture on these pages. After all, the time that we spend here together passes all too quickly, and before long our paths diverge and we are separated again. Diana 62 239 The Halcyon 1986 Staff Well, the year is over, and the seemingly end- less task of putting the yearbook together is drawing to a close. If I ' ve done my job right, each person should be able to find captured on these pages something which can bring back some special, personal memories. If any of these have been immortalized forever, the whole effort will not have been for naught. I would like to give my most heartfelt thanks to all those who lent a hand in getting this book completed — especially Troy Engle, Pat Trin- dar, Mike Gilroy and all those students who willing sibmitted their photographic work. Also — to my roommates goes the award for super- human tolerance and patience in the face of my frequent yearbook-related rantings and ravings. Once again, to the seniors, congratulations. You Ve passed Survival Test 1.1 wish you luck on all the others to come.
