I- ;M ' I ■•«v- W5a 220 The Ampitheater Graduation As President Fraser noted in his Graduation Address, the Class of 1983 arrived at Swarthmore in a thunderstorm, and four years later, left in a thunderstorm. While our class will always be remembered as the first to have graduated twice, we will remember Swarthmore for much more than the diplomas we received in the fieldhouse. What has happened to us as students, friends, roommates, and people during these four years at Swarthmore? What have these classes, books, professors, papers, friendships, meals and experiences meant to us? Just compare our freshmen Cygnet pictures with our senior Halcyon pictures to see the change: we ' ve grown, matured, learned about ourselves, our world, other people. Finally, when we reached our Graduation Day, it brought both joy and pain — joy to be finished with the work and pressure, and pain to be leaving the place that had come to mean so much to us during the past four years.
