200 Years — Then Now 1987 Homecoming Court And Dance The highlight of every Homecoming is the introduc- tion of the Court. This year was no exception. Some- thing making this year's more interesting was the Homecoming Queen Kim Estes Junior Mike Eit- niear on crutches. Even though this temporary handi- cap might have some people down, not our spirited court. This only seemed to add to everyones anticipa- tion excitement. Homecoming demonstrated noth- ing that can keep the Students of Swan ton High from being Shining Stars! (l-r, t-b) Queen Kim Estes King M.itt Carrick. Senior Attendants Lisa Crouse Nate Barrett. Maybe Next Year This year's Varsity was a year of emotional highs and lows. Preseason began with camp very promis- ing scrimmages. Tragedy struck; however, when Es- tes, 3 year letter winner team co-captain, went down with a serious knee injury was out for the duration of the season. Without Estes experience and leadership, the team had a hard time putting it all together. The first 5 matches of the season were losses before winning 2 matches in a row at the Springfield Tournament. The next win didn't come until 5 match- es later against Liberty Center. The final victory of the season was against Rogers. The final win-loss record for the year was 4- 20. The record doesn't real- ly show the accomplish- ments of the season, continued on page 31 (l-r, t-b) Heilmann praying for a hit while Sampsel is ready for a miss.
