Her varied duties include acting as receptionist, answering correspondence, typing tests, typ- ing state reports, making out tary slips, keeping cafeteria records, and helping new students enroll. Principal Mr. Radebaugh has completed his second year as prin- cipal of Swanton High School. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Findlay College, and a M3Ster'B Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. These are Elaine Bowers, Jim Bradford, Bill Bryan, Phyllis Culler, Delores Drennan, Mary Jo Faber, Jerry Fleming, Doris Hallett, Ralph Houser, John Jewell, Norma Jordan, Marilee Kahle, Milton Keener, Paul Longlott, Martin Peters, Leah Rae Witker, and Mary Lou Ziegler . Many exciting experiences are enjoyed through- out this senior year. The important high- lights in the senior year are class trip to New York City, name cards, individual pictures, and the prom. The seniors this year are going in May. All during the year the seniors have been busy with their chicken supper, bakesales, and such events that bring in money towards the trip. 32 1 W Juniors The class of '57 is made-up of 87 members, one of the largest classes in school. The juniors have had numerous money-making projects during the year to help pay for the Junior -Senior Prom. To begin with, they sold candy at noons and after school. On November l8,l.955, the Junior Class presented their class play, Just Ducky. They also sponsored a bake sale and a dance. It has been named after Mr. L. A. Walker, former superintendant of Swanton High School. The full name is The L. A. Walker Future Teachers of America. There are twelve members this year, the sponsors being Mr. Radebaugh and Mr. Juett. The president this year is Norma Jordang vice-president, Julia Corwin, secretary, Shelby Von - Seggern. These members assist in teaching, working in the office, and many other means of earning points. After a member has earned points, he is eligible for an F. T. A. pin. Our organization is affiliated with the Ohio Teachers Organization and also the National Ed- ucation Association. The purposes of the F. T. A. shall be as follows: to learn about the opportunities in teach- ing, to cultivate the qualities essential in a good teacher, to study the lives of great teachers and to foster the development of student leadership. The editor gives assignments on Friday, the day for delivering Hi-Life the paper, and they are usuallv due on Monday. This material makes up the paper for the next week.
