1 Our Junior Play, 'Finders Creepers, was presented April 7, 1953--the first production utilizing the new stage in the gymnasium. The play, a mystery-comedy in three acts, was directed by Miss Catherine Engle, and concerned the incidents which took place when two typical teen-age boys paid a visit to relatives who operated a funeral home. Rehearsals were fun, the play was a huge success, and proved to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable undertakings of our high school career. The cast included Don Dale Frame, John McLaughlin, Ialeen Coombs, Dwight Perrine, Lauvon Jackson, Shirley Dean, Maxine Rhodes, Sally Wilson, Jim Byrne, Kenneth Skidmore, Gene Evans, Leatha Davis, Arthur Pierson, Rebecca Shaver, and Lee Ware. Music between acts, Mary Dyer at the piano, Stage managers, Ken- neth Skidmore and Kenneth Fretwe1lgPrompters, Sue Moore and Nancy Berry, Make-up, Wilma Rose and Alice Lou Gillespie, Tickets, Vesta Barnette, Enola Kniceley, Janice Arnold, John Holcomb, Betty Leavitt, Virginia Gregory, and Barbara Skidmore. aackvz- aumpwm 'UW sw The 1953 Prom, sponsored by the Junior Class, was one of the gala events of that year. Those attending danced to the music of Ned Gutherie and his orchestra from Charleston. The theme was Stardust Serenade and the ballroom was decorated in graduated shades of blue, with silver stars. The guests of honor were the Senior class. The evening was one to be long remembered. 59
